The Foundation Cup is an SCGA Junior Golf Foundation fundraising tournament, hosted annually at a premier private club in Orange County. On July 21st, I will play alongside three Foundation supporters at Mesa Verde CC in a fun and competitive round of golf that aims to raise money for the Foundation.
The goal of this event is to raise money for SCGA Junior programs that I’ve been a part of since I was 7 years old. These programs have shaped my golf journey—from weekly lessons to my Youth on Course pass, which lets me play for just $5 a round. Without them, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to play or grow in this sport.
One of the highlights of being in the program has been participating in the Silver and Gold Tour tournaments. These events have given me valuable competitive experience, helped me grow as a player, and built my confidence both on and off the course. They’ve also introduced me to a supportive and inspiring community of fellow junior golfers.
Beyond playing, I also enjoy giving back. When my schedule allows, I love volunteering at SCGS Junior programs to help younger kids learn how to play golf. It feels great to support them the same way others have supported me.
Most importantly, SCGA Junior has given me more than just golf skills—it’s given me lifelong friendships and incredible mentors like Coach Jacob and Coach Natalie. A huge thank you to our amazing Program Coordinator, Kristen, for organizing such fun and memorable golf tournaments!
